Violence against women, girls, and children goes with different forms including sexual assault, harassments, domestic violence, early and forced marriages, Sex and child trafficking are the examples of violence which occurs and is most happening thing around the world. It is fixed in the gender inequality that women face such humiliation throughout their lives from childhood through to old age. Many people believe that violence toward women and girls is normal, and that too is supported by society. They feel that they can commit any kind of violence without any disapproval.

It is one of the most extensive violations of human rights and has long-term devastating effects on the lives of women, girls, children. Nowadays we read so many different stories or articles regarding physical violence, but now its the time to say "Enough" "No more Physical Violence" as all the people around the globe should understand the terminology as well as they need to change their thoughts with regards to the self respect of women and also stand with them to fight against it and make one religion that is of Humanity.

Violence against women and children is a serious public health concern, with costs at multiple levels of society. Although violence is a threat to everyone, women and children are particularly susceptible to victimization because they often have fewer rights or lack appropriate means of protection. In some societies certain types of violence are deemed socially or legally acceptable, thereby contributing further to the risk to women and children. Worldwide, it has been estimated that violence against women is as serious a cause of death and incapacity among women. Inequalities between men and women cut across the public and private base of life, and social, economic, cultural, and political rights; and are also obvious in restrictions and limitations on women’s freedoms, choices, Perception and opportunities.

These inequalities can increase women and girls risks of abuse, violent relationships and exploitation, for example, due to economic dependency and limited survival and income-earning options, or discrimination under the law as it relates to marriage, divorce, and child custody rights.

What are the Risk Factors?

There are Many such factors correlated with the individual, community, relationship, and society intersecting at a higher level and increasing the risk of violence for women, girls, and children. These factors include:

Experiencing child abuse at an early age.

Low levels of education.

Less economic opportunities.

Conflicts with a partner and break up in relationships or marriage.

women’s insecure access to and control over property and land rights.

male control over decision-making and assets.

Violence in the family on the basis of dowry.

Conflicts related with property.

Attitudes and practices that reinforce female subordination and tolerate male violence (e.g. dowry, bride price, child marriage).

Apart from it there are many more risk factors related to partner violence such as young age, poor mental conditions, low self-esteem, anger, depression, insecurity and dependence, and economic stress.

What are the Protective Factors?

Completion of Education for girls as well as boys.

No Marriage before 18 years of age.

Shall provide skills, training, and educate for further in order to maintain and protect from physical violence.

Social norms that protect the rights of women and gender equality.

Access to support groups.

Educate by doing social campaigns and spread the message of peace and harmony.

Strive for equality for everyone.

Acknowledge that it does not happen in your own community.

Teach kids that violence will not solve problems.

Be courageous.

Report it if you witness sexual harassment in your school or workplace.

Types of Violence against women

Domestic Violence:

It is also called domestic abuse or intimate partner violence.  It encompasses all physical, sexual, emotional, economic and psychological actions or threats of actions that influence another person. This is one of the most common forms of violence experienced by women globally.

Economic Violence:

It involves making a person financially dependent by maintaining total control over financial resources, withholding access to money, and forbidding attendance at school or employment.

Psychological Violence:

It involves threatening, physical harm on a partner or children, destruction of property, “mind games” etc.

Physical Violence:

It involves hurting, hitting, kicking, burning, grabbing, pinching, shoving, slapping, hair-pulling, biting, denying medical care or forcing alcohol and/or drug use, physical force. It may include property damage as well as self destruction.

Sexual Violence:

It involves forcing a partner to have sex without the partners consent. This is one of the most hilarious acts performed by people who don't have the ability to take in things and can't tolerate any hurting on them.

Sexual Harassment:

Sexual harassment involves physical contact, like grabbing, hitting, pinching, slapping, in a sexual way. It also includes staring, sexual comments, sexual favors, stalking etc.

Rape.

Human trafficking.

Child marriage.

Cyberbullying.

Doxing.

These things not only occur within the boundaries but also are experienced worldwide. If today we don't educate others in order to stop such kind of violence, then no women, girls, and children will feel safe and not able to live their life with complete dignity. Standing up against such acts will help us stop such violence people are suffering through, if not, then the upcoming generation won't get any lesson as they'll feel that everything is fair and can be done without others consent.

In order to stop this major prevention should be taken so that everyone who has gone through such humiliation gets justice and the right to walk freely and live with complete dignity. Many such laws are also framed so as to protect and stop these kinds of injustice happening around. All the people living in societies should take the responsibility to stop Violence and to maintain peace around, as this will not only help those people who get affected in day to day life with violence but also it will help those who have the right to live with complete respect.

What are your views with regard to this topic? and How will you stop violence against women, girls, and children?

2021' (Forget Me Not: Go Achromatic to end VAWGC 2021) नामक 06 माह के उप अभियान का आगाज़ 12 जून यानी विश्व बाल श्रम निषेध दिवस से किया जा रहा है।

'FORGET ME NOT: Go Achromatic to End VAWGC 2021', an Initiative by Swapnil Saundarya & Painter Babu Rishabh is a 06 months sub campaign, started from 12th of June i.e. World Day Against Child Labour and will come to an end on 10th of December i.e. International Human Rights Day.

Our mission is to win the battle against social evils in the form of VAWGC (Violence against women, girls and children) prevailing in our society.

We are combining #technology, #socialmedia, the #arts, #journalism, religion, #culture, #business and #activism in a bid to highlight the many ways in which violence devastates women, girls and children through this sub campaign.

This  campaign is going to popularise the black and white colours as a symbol of personal commitment to the eradication of violence against women, girls and children. The black and white colour dress or ribbon symbolises the commitment of the wearer to “never commit or condone violence against the vulnerable, and to speak out about violence where they see it”.

If you have feedback, please let us know. We’d love to hear from you.

Let’s Go Acromatic and make a difference in ending violence against women, girls and children everywhere.
