QUEER, PISSED, AND DONE PLAYING NICE: THE RIOT THAT NEVER ENDED | Swapnil Saundarya
Love Is Love, But Apparently, Equality Comes With Terms & Conditions.
They told us to fight for our rights peacefully.
To protest with dignity.
To be patient because “change takes time.”
Screw that.
Queer Rage Riot isn’t just a movement—it’s a thunderclap. A middle finger to centuries of oppression. From Stonewall to today’s digital revolutions, the LGBTQ+ fight for rights wasn’t just loud—it was earth-shaking. And under Swapnil Saundarya’s ‘Decade of Action for SDGs’ (SDG 5: Gender Equality, SDG 10: Reduced Inequalities, SDG 16: Peace & Justice), the riot continues.
This isn’t about asking nicely anymore. It’s about demanding what’s ours.
WHY ARE WE STILL FIGHTING?
Because despite Pride parades, corporate rainbow logos, and “Love Wins” hashtags:
Trans people are still murdered just for existing.
Same-sex marriage is still illegal in multiple countries.
Queer kids are still kicked out of their homes, abandoned, erased.
Hate crimes are rising, and governments are playing politics with our lives.
The world wants us to believe progress has been made. But visibility isn’t liberation. A pride flag on a company’s Instagram page doesn’t erase the violence we face daily.
THE MYTH OF "GOOD QUEERS" VS. "BAD QUEERS"
Society wants palatable queers. The ones who smile politely, dress respectably, and “fit in.”
If you’re loud? You’re aggressive.
If you demand justice? You’re too radical.
If you fight back? You’re the problem.
They want us docile, grateful, and easy to market. But the real change-makers? The ones who threw bricks, screamed, rioted, and refused to be quiet? They’re the ones who got us here.
Queer Rage Riot honors them—because change was never born out of compliance.
THE BATTLEFRONT: WHERE WE’RE TAKING THE FIGHT
This movement isn’t just about awareness—it’s about war.
🔥 Legislative Fights: Pushing for legal protections, from marriage equality to anti-discrimination laws.
🔥 Trans Rights Now: Demanding healthcare, safety, and legal recognition for trans and non-binary people.
🔥 No More Rainbow-Washing: Calling out corporations that profit off Pride while doing NOTHING for LGBTQ+ rights.
🔥 Queer Visibility Without Borders: Advocating for asylum and safety for LGBTQ+ people worldwide.
ARE YOU HERE TO CLAP? OR TO FIGHT?
Pride wasn’t born out of love. It was born out of rage.
If you’re here for real change—not just performative allyship—welcome to the riot. Because queer people aren’t just asking for a seat at the table anymore.
We’re flipping the whole damn table over.
